“To know my Creator
Austin Frantz, is an American artist, self taught since childhood,
He’s always had a deep imagination, and his creations would became like a voice, saying there is much to learn about one’s own self and life through the very act of creation.
Even the material, the process and the tools can all be connected to our inner lives and experiences.
In his works, there are scars, cracks, and rough patches underneath, all of which speaks the challenging road of life and the marks we receive and carry, but then color, light and order makes its way, and the image, the story, the symbol is then shown. What will it say and reveal? Austin believes the meaning of his work evolves over time, as he ages the better he will understand the image, the more he hears of others perspectives the more he can gather to find its message. Austin would like his work to be like a collaboration with others to understand further, He would like to give others just a small glimpse or a key to understand a bit more of what the image is whispering and maybe they too will also give back an understanding, a sharing.
It’s hard for him to say where his inspiration comes from, but maybe just life itself, and all the things he has carried with him as he moves along in life, memories, studies, conversations, senses, visions, all of which become his tools to express what his soul receives.
All the years of his experiments in creation there always seems to reappear a glimpse of light in the dark. He knows that is a message that has always been with him, And would say that is what he hopes is received by those who see these images, like a calling, to be even just a small light in this world.
But regardless he believes a Light is coming. Maybe that is what he is trying to say.
“May God use this gift He gave me”
