CAUSE

“Cause” is part of my most contemporary work. It starts by creating a unique mineral surface as the foundation, intentional distress and marks are sculpted into the surface, a thinned oil paint is slowly added layer by layer from a refined, matured and toned down palette. This continual cycle of addition and subtraction creates a depth that cannot be achieved in a single application, giving each work the appearance of having quietly endured the passage of time.
This piece comes installed with a simple black floater frame.
“Cause” is part of an on going series, exploring the embrace of change, purification and rebirth.
All works are shipped with hanging material installed.
