“Still” is part of my most contemporary work. It starts by creating a unique mineral surface as the foundation, intentional distress and marks are sculpted into the surface, a thinned oil paint is slowly added layer by layer from a refined, matured and toned down palette. This continual cycle of addition and subtraction creates a depth that cannot be achieved in a single application, giving each work the appearance of having quietly endured the passage of time.
“Waiting II” and my current series, at the moment represents the Patience our soul most endure through.
